From the outset, this project was defined by urgency and trust. Digital Promise had a hard deadline tied to an award submission and needed a video that felt intentional — not rushed. We handled all aspects of production: pre-interview scripting, shooting, editing, light animation, and final delivery.
After initial creative discussions, we drafted a messaging-driven reference script — built from our own research, platform documentation, and conversations with the Digital Promise team. That script became the foundation for our shoot with Kristen, one of the initiative’s key leads. We developed interview questions directly from the script to guide a meaningful and efficient conversation, ensuring we hit the core themes without wasting time on set.
The second interview, previously recorded on a green screen, posed a unique integration challenge. While the footage wasn’t originally designed for this context, we composited it into a clean, office-style visual environment that matched the tone of our new material. It was a practical, thoughtful solution given the constraints — and one that allowed us to expand the narrative with another authentic voice.
Visual storytelling had to rely on animation, screen recordings, and carefully chosen stock — an approach we don’t take lightly. We knew that without original B-roll, the risk of generic, lifeless visuals was high. So we used animation strategically to reinforce concepts, built mockups to align on motion design early, and drew style inspiration from a Webflow case study the client responded well to. Our design choices supported clarity and pacing without distracting from the human stories at the center.
The timeline was intense. One day to shoot, one day to cut an hour of footage down to a tight narrative, and another to revise based on early feedback — all while building out animation, sourcing music, and curating visuals in parallel. Despite the pace, the final product felt polished and purposeful.
The client was thrilled — not only with the quality, but with the way we led the process under pressure. Internal stakeholders praised the piece for elevating their message and bringing pride to those who had worked on the project. It stood apart from past efforts, both in clarity and visual craft.
