One shoot day. Three-person crew. A tight turnaround. One hero film and five social cutdowns.
The brief covered three areas of OpenTable’s product roadmap. We needed enough detail for the film to function as a product announcement without spending three minutes watching someone explain software to camera.
We also had one day at Niku. Interviews and controlled shots had to happen before service; once the restaurant opened, the crew had to work around the staff and guests.
Post started immediately after the shoot, with the final hero due two weeks later.
We shot a multi-camera conversation with OpenTable CTO Sagar Mehta at Niku, then covered prep, pre-service, arrivals, and dinner service.
That footage gave the product discussion a real operating environment. When the conversation moved to guest information, demand, or connected systems, we could show where those ideas actually touch the restaurant rather than relying on a feature demo.
We planned the hero and social cuts together. The same interview and service coverage produced the 1:47 launch film and five shorter edits, each finished for landscape, square, and vertical delivery.
The final hero was delivered August 21, fourteen days after the August 7 shoot.
Alongside it, OpenTable received five campaign cutdowns in three aspect ratios: fifteen social deliverables from the same production day.
